Welcome to Stokenham Pre-School

Stokenham Pre-School has been providing a welcoming, happy and safe environment for pre-school children to learn, play and develop for over forty five years (established in 1972), and has proudly served the local community ever since.

We are a friendly and successful independent pre-school and are happily situated within the grounds of Stokenham Area Primary School.

We have a large building with two rooms for work and play and also benefit from a large outdoor area. Our building is fully insulated and double glazed with eco friendly heating and electrics.

Our outdoor space benefits from a beautiful green oak canopied area so that we can play outside come rain or shine.

We welcome children from 2yrs – 5yrs old, Monday – Friday, during term time, and we also run  ‘Happy Feet Mother and Toddler’ session from 10.00am – 12.00pm, every Friday morning, term time only. Where your child, has full use of our pre-school facilities, giving them and you the opportunity to get to know our friendly staff, and become used to pre-school way of life, before becoming a fully-fledged Stokenham Pre-Schooler

Our Aims

Our setting aims to:

  • provide high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age
  • work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop
  • add to the life and well-being of its local community
  • offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.

We aim to ensure that each child:

  • is in a safe and stimulating environment
  • is given generous care and attention, because of our ratio of qualified staff to children, as well as volunteer parent helpers
  • has the chance to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together
  • is helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can do
  • has a personal key person who makes sure each child makes satisfying progress
  • is in a setting that sees parents as partners in helping each child to learn and develop
  • is in a setting in which parents help to shape the service it offers

What our parents and children say about us

We were so lucky to find Stokenham Pre-School when we moved into the area. They helped our son settle when everything around him had changed. I can’t recommend them enough. They are a fantastic team who love what they do!

Tina Mitchell

My youngest child of three children has just started at Stokenham Pre-School. All three children have been and are always excited about going. I know that they will be very happy and safe throughout the day, being cared for by excellent staff in brilliant surroundings. I could not recommend Stokenham Pre-School more highly.

We chose Happy Feet as a safe area for babies and young toddlers but also let him interact with the older children as he has grown. He is so happy and confident when we are there and is definitely used to the pre-school environment and we have no worries about when it’s time for him to stay on his own. Thank you!
